Marriott’s Grande Vista Opens

Marriott’s Grande Vista is open. The first phase of Marriott’s Lakeshore Reserve at Grande Vista has officially opened. The timeshare resort is the first to be on the same campus as a Ritz-Carlton hotel and a JW Marriott. It is also the first time that Marriott Vacation Club has built two-story town home-style units in North America. Marriott broke ground on the Mediterranean -style development nearly two years ago. The first phase includes 85 villas out of a proposed 340. Marriott’s Lake Shore Reserve is Marriott’s seventh timeshare resort in the Orlando area.

Ritz Carlton Hong Kong To Be World’s Highest Hotel

New Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong to be World’s Highest Hotel. The new Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong, once completed, will be the highest hotel in the World and is set to open in December 2010. The hotel will occupy the top 16 floors of the International Commerce Center, a 118-story skyscraper that serves as the base for financial giants like Morgan Stanley and Deutsche Bank. According to Mark Lettenbichler, Vice President and Area General Manager for Ritz-Carlton, he said that “the hotel will stand as a showcase of contemporary design, and become an iconic landmark in a city known for its architectural excellence.” The hotel’s design is set to be varied but consistent with a classic theme. Vast windows and high ceilings will be found all over the hotel together with several trendy restaurants, an indoor infinity pool and a rooftop bar that is sure to take ‘chilling out’ to a whole new height. Aside from the top-quality service for which Ritz-Carlton hotels are known, there will be panoramic views of the skyline, green mountains, and busy ports.

Marriott Vacation Club introduces new vacation ownership program. Marriott Vacation Club, the timeshare brand of Marriott International, recently announced the launch of the points-based Marriott Vacation Club Destinations program in North America and the Caribbean, rather than the once usual week at a designated resort. The points system is designed to accommodate new trends in travel and increase flexibility for timeshare owners, allowing them to book multiple, shorter stays rather than a full week. Current owners of Marriott timeshares will maintain their full rights and privileges, but will also have the option to enroll in the new program.

During a recent ceremony in Nuevo Vallarta, Interval International, presented The Villa Group’s executives with the prestigious Chairman’s Club Award. The annual award recognizes the top 25 membership-producing companies worldwide, based on new memberships received by Interval during the previous calendar year. Fantasy World Resort Will Now Have Surfing

Fantasy World Resort will have surfing. Surfing will now be available at a timeshare resort in central Florida. According to a recent article in the Orlando Sentinel, the Fantasy World Resort in Kissimmee plans to build a $4 million indoor aquatic facility called Fantasy Surf. The attraction will feature a double FlowRider system that blends surfing, snowboarding, and skateboarding techniques in a controlled water environment. It’s the same technology used aboard some Royal Caribbean cruise ships.

Starwood Hotels and Resorts Dramatically Expanding In India

Starwood Hotels and Resorts are dramatically expanding in India with plans to expand its presence in India by nearly 60% by 2013. The first Starwood resort was located in Mumbai in 1973, and since the 70s, the company has opened 26 other resorts under names including Westin, Sheraton, Four Points by Sheraton, the Luxury Collection and Le Meridien. With all of the different locations and brands to choose from, this makes Starwood the largest upscale US resort operation in all of India. Breaking down the future expansion plans, Starwood has 15 resorts under development in India alone. They have been working on six Aloft resorts, and three of which are scheduled to open this year. The new line of Aloft resorts put a chic spin on traveling. With hip villa décor, on-site bars, and live music performances, Starwood hopes that this new spin on resorts will attract travelers of all ages.

New Timeshare Expansion Planned In Myrtle Beach

A new timeshare expansion is planned in Myrtle Beach. Two new projects at Grande Dunes, an upscale 2,200-acre residential and golf community that stretches from the oceanfront to west of the Intracoastal Waterway is up for review by the city of Myrtle Beach, marking the first significant new development in the area since the economic downturn. A 187-unit, single-family home subdivision and an oceanfront condo tower have been proposed. The tower project is a 16-story, 125-unit condo timeshare project, to be located on oceanfront land next to the Dunes Club. The final plan will consist of three towers with about 500 units on 4 acres with an ocean of pools, open areas and a potential restaurant.

Hilton Hawaiian Village Scheduled To Add New Timeshare Towers

The Hilton Hawaiian Village is scheduled to add two new timeshare towers to its resort. As part of a 10-year expansion plan at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, two new timeshare towers are to be built. The Hilton Hawaiian Village is situated in Waikiki on the south shore of the island of Oahu. The complex boasts 22 oceanfront acres and claims to be the only true resort in Waikiki. The first tower construction will begin in 2013 and is scheduled for completion in 2015 with stories and 300 units. The resort was named number eight in Ten Best Family Beach Resorts in the US and Caribbean by Parents Magazine. The survey evaluated the resort’s many features and Parents concluded that it offered excellent value for money, fun activities for parents and children, excellent safety factors and a high standard of quality accommodation.
