Interval International has launched Interval Community; an on-line social network designed to provide its 1.8 million members of the Interval Network a platform to share their love of vacation ownership, travel, and social networking. It is live on IntervalWorld.com.

Peninsula Bay Resort is a new resort on Bali. It is also one of the newest Interval International properties and is situated on the Indonesian island of Bali. It is the latest vacation ownership property developed by British entrepreneurs, Roger and Alan Thomas, and is located on the waterfront of Nusa Dua overlooking the golden sand beaches of Benoa Bay. Upon completion, the purpose-built project will feature 65 one and two-bedroom units, all with sea-facing views. The resort is being built using contemporary Balinese architecture and is set within lush tropical gardens to create an eco- friendly atmosphere. The new property is just a five-minute drive from Peninsula Beach Resort, with shuttle service between the two, so that owners are free to enjoy the amenities at both properties. Other planned amenities include an on-site spa, swimming pool, gym, two restaurants, and three bars.

New Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong to be World’s Highest Hotel. The new Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong, once completed, will be the highest hotel in the World and is set to open in December 2010. The hotel will occupy the top 16 floors of the International Commerce Center, a 118-story skyscraper that serves as the base for financial giants like Morgan Stanley and Deutsche Bank. According to Mark Lettenbichler, Vice President and Area General Manager for Ritz-Carlton, he said that “the hotel will stand as a showcase of contemporary design, and become an iconic landmark in a city known for its architectural excellence.” The hotel’s design is set to be varied but consistent with a classic theme. Vast windows and high ceilings will be found all over the hotel together with several trendy restaurants, an indoor infinity pool and a rooftop bar that is sure to take ‘chilling out’ to a whole new height. Aside from the top-quality service for which Ritz-Carlton hotels are known, there will be panoramic views of the skyline, green mountains, and busy ports.

The first international timeshare sales office for Disney Vacation Club will open in Tokyo with a 15,000 square foot sales center at the Ikspiari shopping complex. Disney also plans to add timeshare sales kiosks throughout the Tokyo Disney Resort. Disney Vacation Club timeshare preview centers are already located in Long Island, NY, and in Chicago, Illinois. The new timeshare sales center for Disney Vacation Club will include a full-size model of one of the two-bedroom timeshare units planned for the Disney Vacation Club Villas, Ko Olina, Hawaii.

The awards were presented to the company in the categories of “General Manager” and “Marketing – Operational Support Staff Manager”. Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide is adding two new resort hotels in China. Starwood has recently announced that its Luxury Collection brand has signed two new deals to open the brand’s first hotels in China. The Astor Hotel is scheduled to open as a Luxury Collection Hotel in May 2010 after renovation, and the Malus Sanya is a new resort set to open in late 2012. This adds significantly to the Luxury Collection brand’s overall global growth that includes five new hotel openings in 2009.

The Astor Hotel Tianjin features 152 luxury guest rooms and suites, a large meeting space, five world class restaurants and bars, an indoor swimming pool, and state-of-the-art fitness and business center. The Malus Sanya is part of the integrated Haitang Bay Beach Resort with plenty of beachfront, lush landscapes, sea views, 160 luxury guest rooms and villas, two signature restaurant and bars, a 24-hour business center; state-of-the-art health club and fitness center, spa, outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts; specialty shopping, and a recreational center shared with the Sheraton Sanya Haitang Bay Resort.

The Solluna Resort in Uttarakhand, India is now a member of the RCI Network of affiliated resorts. RCI, the global leader in vacation exchange and one of the Wyndham Worldwide family of companies recently announced the affiliation with the Solluna Resort.
