The Beach Republic the Residences was crowned a winner at the sixth annual 2011 Thanachart Bank Thailand Property Awards held during a Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony at the Grand Hyatt Erawan in Bangkok. The most prestigious and sought after acknowledgement of excellence in Thailand’s property and real estate industry, the Thanachart Bank Property Awards are the benchmark for quality and showcase the best of the best. This year the public submitted for consideration over 1,300 companies and developments across 31 categories. Of these, just 80 were shortlisted and subjected to a rigorous review process. Nominated in the category of Best Shared Ownership Development for its Koh Sammui property on the northern tip of Lamai Beach. Beach Republic the Residences was named the winner for the second consecutive year.

The Club at the Village Coconut Island has joined the Interval International Global Vacation Exchange Network. This resort is the latest Absolute World Group resort to join the global vacation exchange network. The timeshare is a private residence club and is part of an exclusive mixed-use development on a private island off the east coast of the popular holiday island of Phuket in Thailand. The resort has been developed to create the ideal vacation residence for owners and Interval International members according to Bryan Lunt, chairman of Absolute World Group. In fact, the resort was recently named “Best Shared Ownership” development in the inaugural Southeast Asia Property Awards created by Property Report South East Asia. The magazine received more than 1,500 nominations and recognized winners as “the crème de la crème of the industry.” Amenities include a spa and state-of-the-art fitness center offering yoga classes and Thai boxing lessons, two lighted tennis courts, and a children’s club.

The Vijayshree Heritage Village is now a Wyndham Worldwide resort. Located near the World Heritage site of Hampi, the former capital of the famed Vijayanagara empire, this resort is a classified “five-star” timeshare resort in India and spread across 17 acres of hill-fenced expanse, offering ethnic luxuries with 43 cottages nestled amid 60,000 planted trees. Vijayshree Heritage Village includes amenities such a fine dining restaurant, a health club with a 6,000 square-foot swimming pool, spa, and beauty salon. There’s a wellness center offering Balinese, Swedish, Oriental, Thai and Ayurvedic massages.

Resort Suites at Sunway Resort Hotel and Spa is now an Interval International property. The property near Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia’s capital city is part of the 800 acre Sunway Integrated Resort City, which attracts 30 million visitors a year and houses more than 7 million square feet of world-class facilities. The resort is surrounded by the Sunway Pyramid, Malaysia’s first themed mall and the multi-award winning Sunway Lagoon, which has been named ‘Asia’s Best Attraction’ for the past four years. The resort’s 36 timeshare units are studio apartments with kitchenettes, living, and dining areas and include Wi-Fi and room service. Guests have access to a swimming pool complete with waterfall and poolside bar and a fully equipped 24-hour fitness center that holds a variety of classes.

RCI has added the Shining Star Vacation Club Xing Yao Shui Xiang Resort to its portfolio. RCI, a global leader in vacation exchange, announced it has expanded its network in Kunming, China through its affiliation with this resort. The property is located in the Jia Lize wetland and is within a mega upscale integrated tourism development that consists of more than 10,000 vacation accommodations with theme resorts, hotels, holiday villas and town houses, an equestrian club with a landscaped riding boulevard, an ecological wetland park, country-style fishing club, golf academy and driving range exclusively designed by Phil Mickelson, extensive lavender and sunflower fields, organic fruit and vegetable garden, meeting and conference facilities, and a myriad of retail and dining facilities

Interval International has added the Peninsula Bay Resort in Bali as one of its members. The resort is under construction and is located on the waterfront of Nusa Dua and bordered by Benoa Bay. After the project is completed, there will be 65 one and two-bedroom units with sea-facing views ready for occupancy. The resort is blending contemporary Balinese architecture topped with verdant tropical gardens, to demonstrate an eco-friendly ambience. The new property is only five minutes away from the old Peninsula Beach Resort and a shuttle service will be made available so owners may visit both properties without difficulty. New amenities will include two restaurants, a swimming pool, an on-site spa, and three bars. Peninsula Bay Resort purchasers will be automatically enrolled as Interval International individual members, and be part of its upgraded membership program called Interval Gold.

The Share Luxe Club is now affiliated with Interval International with two properties in Japan and Indonesia respectively. The Japanese property is located in Kyoto in centuries-old traditional Japanese townhouses and known as ShareLuxe Kyoto Kizashi-Kamishichiken. It’s fully renovated and tucked into a street lined with machiyas (townhouses) and Japanese teahouses. The resort combines traditional Japanese style with contemporary luxury in two-bedroom units outfitted with western-style twin beds that can accommodate four people. Three more people can sleep in a large room on tatami mats. The units have also been retrofitted with a modern full-sized kitchen and LCD TVs. On Bali, the ShareLuxe Bali Tuka Terrace is just five miles from the tourist area of Kuta and two miles from Canggu Beach. The traditional Balinese villa has an open-plan design and includes three bedrooms, full kitchen, modern bathrooms, an infinity swimming pool, landscaped private garden, 24-hour butler and maid, security services, cooking service, and private transportation.

The Palace Vacation Club of Malaysia has joined the RCI network of timeshare exchange affiliates. The resorts included in the Palace Vacation Club group are the Country Villas Malaysia and the Palace of the Golden Horses.

Country Villas is Malaysia’s first Mediterranean-style waterfront property. It has distinct wall finishings on graceful white facades and unique red-bricked driveways surrounded by beautiful landscaped gardens. The 250 units are tastefully furnished and well-equipped with basic amenities.
