The Welk Resorts Cabo Sirena Del Mar is now open and is one of the newest members of Interval International. Overlooking the Sea of Cortez near Cabo San Lucas on the Baja California peninsula, this property is the first international location in the Welk Resorts portfolio. It is the Welk Resorts sixth property and is set on a 65-foot bluff on the tip of the peninsula.

The resort property is being built in tiers to maximize its panoramic views of the Sea of Cortez and El Arco, the landmark stone arch. There are two pools on the seven-acre property and cascading decks have wet wall water features, a vanishing edge waterfall and spa, thatched palapas, and a fire pit. At the rim of the seaside cliff is a spiral staircase leads to a cove beach. Sixteen of the 20 two-bedroom villas in phase one of Welk Resorts Cabo Sirena del Mar are lock-off units, and the remaining four units are two-bedroom penthouses.

The build out is scheduled to progress in five phases for a total of 222 units with a range of configurations, including one-bedroom junior suites. All units will include luxury amenities such as whirlpool tubs, stainless appliances, multiple flat screen TVs, complimentary Internet access, and pillow-top king-sized beds. Phase one owners and guests will be able to enjoy a range of on-site amenities including two outdoor pools (one with a swim-up bar), a fitness center, game room, an owner’s lounge and shop selling beverages and sundries. Just five minutes from the property is Cabo San Lucas, with a full spectrum of shopping, dining, golf and water sports.

Grand Lodges in Oregon has now been added to the Interval International exchange network of resorts. Tucked into Oregon’s Cascade Mountain range and a few miles from Mt. Hood, this new fractional resort offers four seasons of recreation, including year-round downhill and cross-country skiing. The central location of Grand Lodges adjacent to three ski areas is ideal for upscale clients, who have the opportunity to visit a high-quality ski-in/ski-out resort.

Owners of 1/16 shares at Grand Lodges can catch the Porch-to-Powder shuttle to the Mt. Hood Skibowl, Timberline Lodge, and Collins Lake Resort and ski back from Timberline via the glade trail to within steps of their front doors. A proposed aerial tramway connecting the three ski areas promises to further expand ski-in options. With panoramic views of Multorpor Mountain, Mt. The Gardenia Resort in Egypt is scheduled to be completed in 2011 and will be a member of the Interval International vacation exchange program. The resort will be located in the holiday town of Hurghada on Egypt’s famed Red Sea Riviera.

It is a mixed-use property situated within easy reach of golden beaches and local nightlife. The purpose-built resort will contain 175 timeshare units with a combination of studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom units. Facilities on site will include restaurants and bars, swimming pools, and a kid’s corner.

The Grand Laguna Beach Resort in the Dominican Republic has been added to the Interval International vacation exchange network. Currently under construction, the purpose-built, mixed-use resort is being built on one of the few remaining beachfront sites on the north shore of the island between the towns of Susua and Cabarete. Current plans call for both whole ownership and vacation ownership units, ranging in size from studios to three-bedrooms.

The unit design is a simple, elegant style patterned after the old-world ambience of colonial architecture and will include gracious living and dining areas, a state-of-the-art kitchen equipped with stainless steel appliances and granite counter tops, and a spacious terrace. Resort amenities are also anticipated to include a fine-dining restaurant with a cigar lounge and wine bar, an outdoor bar, beachside casual dining, two pools, an on-site grocery store, a fitness area, a 24-hour concierge, and the In-Sense Spa.

The Geovillage Sports Village and Spa Resort near Sardinia, Italy is now an Interval International Resort. Designed around the principles of sport and wellness, the resort includes the Malo Clinic Spa and Fitness Centre, and counts champion tennis stars and top soccer teams from across Europe among its guests. The resort is set on 35 acres of lush Mediterranean gardens and is located on the northeast coast of Sardinia.

The resort includes timeshare units within the existing hotel that are spacious, filled with natural light, and designed in a modern style featuring bleached wood furniture. Amenities include an outdoor Olympic-size swimming pool and two indoor pools, four synthetic and six clay tennis courts, wet and piano bars, and a restaurant, in addition to the world-class spa and fitness center. It is also just a short distance from the beach of Pittulongu.

The West Sands Phuket Beach Club in Thailand has been added to the Interval International global vacation exchange network. The resort seamlessly blends state-of-the art development with a commitment to green building practices and was honored with the prestigious Green Development Award in 2007 and 2008 at the Thailand Property Awards.

Tucked into 48 lush acres with its own 500 yards of private beachfront, the resort is situated on Mai Khao Beach on Phuket’s west coast. The studio, one, and two-bedroom units range from 990 to 1,798 square feet, and the three-bedroom units measure 3,605 square feet. The residences have been designed to have minimal impact on the environment and all feature European-style kitchens and bathrooms, as well as balconies with views of the pool, gardens, or the Andaman Sea. Mai Khao, which is part of the Sirinat National Park, is home to a golden sand beach, which stretches for 10 miles along the Andaman Sea and is the longest beach in Phuket.

Activities in and around the area include water sports, sailing, diving and fishing and further inland activities include elephant riding, trekking, golf, and horseback riding. Guests at the resort have access to the West Sands Water World, one of the largest water parks in Asia. Facilities at the resort include a fitness center, cooking school, PADI National Geographic Dive Centre, freeform swimming pool, tennis and squash courts, and spa.

The Villa del Palmar Cancun Luxury Beach Resort and Spa has been added to the Interval International exchange network. With the development of its first shared ownership resort in the Mexican Caribbean, the Villa Group is building on its success in Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta, Nuevo Vallarta, and Loreto.

Currently under construction, the property will be situated on 35 acres along Mujeres Bay, opposite Isla Mujeres, and a 15-minute drive from downtown Cancun. The first phase is slated to open in 2010 and two additional phases are expected to be completed by 2012. Each villa will be elegantly decorated and include a living room, dining room, full kitchen with granite countertops, modern appliances and electronic equipment, and a spacious terrace.

The Westin Riverfront Mountain Villas in Colorado is now part of the Interval International vacation exchange network. The Westin Riverfront Mountain Villas is the newest Starwood resort. Starwood Vacation Network has been affiliated with Interval International since 2000 and has 21 resorts in its collection.

The resort is nestled at the base of Beaver Creek Mountain and showcases dramatic views of the surrounding Rocky Mountain landscape through each of the units expansive floor-to-ceiling windows. The spacious 34 two-bedroom villas also feature natural stone fireplaces, large closets, a balcony, a full kitchen, and table seating for six. Other Westin brand signature products and services found in all the villas include the trademarked Heavenly Bed, Heavenly Bath, marble bathrooms, individual climate control, flat screen televisions and Internet access.

The resort is part of the Riverfront Village, which is situated in the Vail Valley on a private 19-acre site fronting the Eagle River. Its gondola provides access to all of Beaver Creek Mountain, Bachelor Gulch, Arrowhead, and the McCoy Park snowshoe and ski tracks. Outdoor offerings also include kayaking or rafting down the Eagle River, as well as hiking and biking along well-paved trails.

Interval International has renewed its affiliation with the Grand Crowne Resorts in Branson, Missouri, which is itself a points based vacation club that includes three different vacation ownership properties in Branson.
